About the Captain of Beaufort Sport Fishing

About Your Captain

Captain Charlie BeadonCaptain Charlie Beadon is a full-time Fishing Guide with over 15 years of professional fishing experience. He started his career in the Florida Keys as a deck hand on offshore sport fishing boats taking out charters for pelagic species such as sailfish, dolphin, wahoo and tuna plus bottom dwellers such as grouper, snapper and jacks. His time in the Keys gave him the opportunity to learn from some of the top charter boat captains in the world while fishing a rigorous charter and tournament schedule plus routine trips throughout the Bahama Islands. After 7 years in the Keys Charlie made his way up to the Lowcountry of South Carolina taking a position as River Pro at a private club located just between Beaufort and Hilton Head. There he headed up the shallow water and fly fishing programs teaching anglers about fly casting, fly tying and guiding full time on the local waters for species such as redfish, speckled trout, flounder and cobia. After leaving the private side he started his own guide service to focus on inshore light tackle spin and fly fishing adventures.

A few of the key characteristics that make Captain Charlie an outstanding fishing guide is his attention to detail, patience and hard work ethic. With upward of a 9 foot tide swing, mastering flats fishing in the Beaufort/Hilton Head area takes years of practice, precision, and dedication – all of which are shared during every guided fishing trip. Charlie is a passionate shallow water angler who enjoys putting his clients on schools of redfish, tailing reds, specks, flounder and cruising cobia. From the time he leaves the dock to the time he returns, his goal on every guided fishing trip is to maximize opportunities to get you hooked up with that fish of a lifetime.

Captain Charlie Beadon is a passionate Fishing Guide specializing in light tackle spin and fly fishing. Call 843-592-0897 for availability or CLICK HERE for more information.

Technical Fishing Boat

beaufort and hilton head fishing guideAfter spending years searching for the perfect technical shallow water fishing boat and I do believe that the F-18 by Fly Boatworks has designed a boat that does everything right! Its always a balance between going skinny -or- getting beat up on the ride. Most extreme shallow water boats pound in a chop and are wet on the ride leaving you beat up and wet before you even put a line in the water. How the guys over at Fly Boatworks did it I don’t know but this boat floats in 7 inches of water, rides great in a chop and is extremely dry. Moreover, this boat is exceptionally stable…you will have no problem walking the gunwales while fighting a fish without the worry of pitching from side to side. She also offers plenty of deck space for fishing, a 20 gal live-well, casting platforms, ample cooler space and dry storage. If you are looking to get to places that most people can’t go then this is the boat to get you there!

Light Spin and Fly Fishing Equipment

Fishing TackleYou are more than welcome to bring your own gear on any of our trips but I do provide top quality spin and fly fishing gear as a part of the charter. If there is one thing that I take great pride in it’s my tackle and the condition of my gear! If I think that there is a piece of equipment that will give you a better chance at catching that fish of a lifetime I make sure it’s on the boat. For spinning rods I use 6-12 pound class St. Croix rods matched with penn reels and for fly fishing rods I use 7-10 weight St. Croix rods and Sage reels. Moreover, I ensure that my tackle is in top working order and ready to go at all times…the way that I look at it, there is just no excuse to loosing a fish due to poor preparation.
